Kentucky Women’s Tennis Signs Two to Class of 2020

LEXINGTON, Ky. –  The University of Kentucky women’s tennis program has signed two elite junior players to the class of 2020, as head coach Carlos Drada welcomes Elizabeth Stevens from Tigard, Oregon, and Salsa Aher from Pune, India.
 
Kentucky anticipates additional signees during the early recruitment period.

  • Five-star recruit… Top 40 in the nation and No. 1 in Oregon… Plays right handed… 17-11 overall record… Trained full time at LAT Academy West in Florida… ITF Juniors high rank 304.
  • “I couldn’t be more excited about joining the Big Blue Nation and being a part of something special,” Stevens said. “Right as I walked on campus, I fell in love and knew I wanted to call this place home. I’m excited for what’s ahead on and off the tennis court! Go Cats!”
  • “We are excited to sign Elizabeth because her personal values are aligned with the values of our organization,” Drada said. “Lizzy is someone with a versatile game style and vast potential. She will be a great contributor to our team.”

  •  “It was one of the happiest moments in my life to sign for one of the best universities, which can help me achieve my dream of making it big in the Grand Slam Circuit,” Aher said.
  • “We are pumped to add Salsa to our program,” said assistant coach Federico Sabogal. “Since the first day we started recruiting her, it was evident she wanted to come to college as a path to play professionally afterwards. That is exactly what we are looking for here at Kentucky. Her passion for the sport, work ethic and great character are assets that will contribute to our team in reaching our full potential.”
