Kentucky Cross Country Races in NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Friday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Kentucky races in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET at Panorama Farms. 
 
The women’s team kicks things off with a 6,000-meter race beginning at 10:30, followed by the 10k men’s race that gets started at 11:30.

Following Friday’s races and contingent upon the final results, the Wildcats will begin their preparations for the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Indiana. 
 
The top two teams from the Southeast Regional races will advance to race in Terre Haute, while the top four individual finishers that are not affiliated with a school that advances will also advance to the NCAA Championships. After those are determined, the rest of the field is selected using an at-large system.

Men’s Team Outlook
In the last time out for the men’s team, Kentucky finished fourth at the SEC Championships in Lexington, Kentucky at the Kentucky Horse Park. Brennan Fields led the way in that meet after finishing in 5th, followed by Trevor Warren who was the Wildcats’ No. 2 finisher with an 11th-place finish.
 
The men’s team on Friday will be comprised of Fields, Warren, Dylan Allen, Aaron Withrow, Shane Williams, Gabriel Szalay and Patrick Schaefer.
 
Women’s Team Outlook
The women’s team finished in seventh at the SEC Championships in their last time out. UK was led by Perri Bockrath with a 27th-place finish while Kaylie Kenne was Kentucky’s No. 2 finisher with a 35th-place finish.
 
For the race on Friday, the Wildcats will have Bockrath, Kenne, Rachel Boice, Kaitlyn Lacy, Sophie Carrier, Caitlin Shepard and Madisyn Peeples competing.
