Kentucky Cross Country Races in Pre-Nationals on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Kentucky gets back into action at Pre-Nationals on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. ET for its fourth meet of the season.
 
The women’s team kicks things off with a 6,000-meter race beginning at 11, followed by the 8k men’s race that gets started at 11:35. A few Wildcats will also compete in the open races which begin with the women’s 6k at 1:30 p.m. and then the men’s 8k race getting going at 2:05.

Following Saturday’s races, UK begins its preparations for the SEC Championships on Friday, Nov. 1 beginning at 9 a.m. in Lexington at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Men’s Team Outlook
In the last time out for the men’s team, Kentucky finished in 22nd at the Greater Louisville Classic. Dylan Allen led the way in that meet after finishing in 28th, followed by Shane Williams who was the Wildcats’ No. 2 finisher with a 75th-place finish. 
 
The men’s teams on Saturday will be comprised of Allen, Tanner Dowdy, Brennan Fields, McLean Griffin, Kai Muniz, Patrick Schaefer, Gabriel Szalay, Matthew Thomas, Trevor Warren, Williams and Aaron Withrow.
 
Women’s Team Outlook
The women’s team finished in 20th at the Greater Louisville Classic in their last time out. UK was led there by Kaylie Kenne with a 26th-place finish while Rachel Boice was Kentucky’s No. 2 finisher with a 41st-place finish.
 
For the race on Saturday, the Wildcats will have Perri Bockrath, Boice, Sydney Burke, Sophie Carrier, Kenne, Kaitlyn Lacy, Mallory Liggett, Sarah Michels, Madisyn Peeples, Caitlin Shepard and Kelli Walsh competing.
