Kentucky Baseball to Host Pair of Fall Exhibition Games
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky baseball team will host two free exhibition games this fall beginning with a late afternoon first pitch against Morehead State on Sunday, September 29 at Kentucky Proud Park. The Wildcats also will host Xavier on Sunday, October 27 to close out their fall practice window.
Sunday’s game against Morehead State is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. ET start. The UK women’s soccer team will host Mississippi State at 2 p.m. that day at the adjacent Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex and fans are encouraged to take in all the action at both venues. The time for the October 27 game vs. Xavier will be announced at a later date.
The games will be free and open to the public. Tickets are not needed for entry and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates for Saturday’s first exhibition will open at 3:30 p.m. and a limited selection of concessions will be available on the concourse.
The Cats are entering the fourth season under head coach Nick Mingione and have won 103 games during his three-year tenure. The program has seen 24 players selected in the past two Major League Baseball drafts, including a school-record 13 in 2018, and a pair of first-round selections in Evan White (2017) and Zack Thompson (2019). The program also advanced to the Super Regional for the first time in school history in 2017 and opened $49 million Kentucky Proud Park last season.
Season ticket holders can begin renewing their 2020 season tickets September 27 through their My UK Account at UKathletics.com/renew. Season ticket holders will have the option of a two-month payment plan at the time of renewal, exclusively online through their My UK Account and the renewal deadline will be October 29. New season tickets will be available for purchase beginning October 1 starting at $64 at UKbaseballtix.com.
