2018 John Calipari Coaches’ Clinic Set for Oct. 21

by Eric Lindsey

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2018 John Calipari Coaches’ Clinic has been set for Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joe Craft Center on the campus of the University of Kentucky. Tickets to the Blue-White Game, which will be later that night, will also be included in the package. For fans unable to make it to the clinic in person, a livestream will also be available for purchase at CoachCal.com.

The day-long event, intended for male and female coaches, gives a unique look into the coaching philosophies and strategies that Calipari uses in guiding the eight-time national championship basketball program at Kentucky.

Attendees will be given exclusive access to watch Coach Calipari and his staff conduct practice with the 2018-19 Wildcats. There will be opportunities to ask Coach Calipari and his staff questions after practice.

The cost of the in-person clinic is $110. The livestream only will be $24.99. Registration will close on Oct. 20, so participants are encouraged to secure their spot for this year’s clinic early through the online registration link or at ukathletics.com/camps. Past clinics have sold out.

In-person participants to this year’s clinic will also receive two tickets per person to the Blue-White Game, which will take place that night at 7 in Rupp Arena. They will also have an opportunity take a picture with Coach Calipari.

For coaches and even fans who are unable to attend the clinic in person, this year’s Coaches’ Clinic will feature a livestream for the first time on CoachCal.com, Calipari’s official website. Coaches will be able to bring the clinic instruction straight to their computer or smart device by registering online.

Participants will receive live access to the clinic, as well as the ability to access the clinic as many times as they would like for 72 hours afterward (link will also be available to in-person attendees). Additionally, livestream participants will be allowed to submit questions to @CoachCalDotCom on Twitter for Coach Calipari to answer throughout the clinic. Following the clinic, livestream participants will be allowed to submit their own drills and practice points, which will be emailed out to all other participants in the livestream clinic.

“We are trying to create the biggest and the best worldwide clinic in the history of basketball. Be a part of it,” Calipari said. “I could not be more excited about the opportunity to open up a practice to coaches across the globe.”

Once participants have registered for the livestream, they will be given instructions on how to log in to CoachCal.com to view the livestream. The cost of the live stream, which will be from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the on-court instructional window of the clinic, is $24.99.

“I’m always looking for ways to reach out and connect with as many coaches and basketball fans as I can, from podcasts to social media to speaking engagements across the country,” Calipari said. “This is the next step. I think this is going to be a home run for everybody.”

In-person check-in for the 2018 Coaches’ Clinic will be from 9-10 a.m. in the lobby of the Joe Craft Center.

Parking will be available only in the E lot located on the north side of the Joe Craft Center. Attendees must park in a legal parking spot in the E lots only (parking in R lots is not permitted).

Please note that participants of recruiting age (males or females currently in the 7th-12th grade, junior college or prep school) are not permitted to register for or attend the clinic.

Registration is available online and any clinic related questions can be called into the men’s basketball camp line at 859-257-9457 or 859-257-1916.

Cancellation policy: A $15 processing fee will be deducted from any cancellations that result in a refund.
