Kentucky Gymnastics Announces 2019 Recruiting Class

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky gymnastics head coach Tim Garrison announced the completion of the 2019 recruiting class on Wednesday. Raina Albores (River Falls, Wisconsin), Shealyn Luksik (Allison Park, Pennsylvania) and Raena Worley (Christiansburg, Virginia) will all join the Wildcats as freshmen next year.
 
“We are thrilled to announce our 2019 UK Gymnastics class,” head coach Tim Garrison said. “This special group of young ladies brings an abundance of talent and strong academic track records of success to UK. In addition to those qualities, my staff and I are extremely excited that all of these young ladies have consistently and proudly expressed their desire to be Wildcats. They intend to continue the rise of the program as they chase championships. We look forward to getting them here on campus.”

Raina Albores – Perpetual Motion Gymnastics – River Falls, Wisconsin – River Falls High School

  • Level 10 gymnast
  • Qualified for Regionals each year Level 8-10
  • Placed first at Regionals on vault, beam, floor and All-Around in 2017
  • Qualified for State every year, placing first in each year through Level 8
  • Qualified for Super 8 in Region 4
  • Qualified to Junior Olympic Nationals the last two years, placing top 15 in both
  • Qualified to Westerns as a Level 9 and tied for first on vault
  • Academic Excellence Award recipient all four years of high school

  • Third on vault and floor at 2018 Indiana State Championships
  • 2016 All-Around State Champion as well as vault, second on bars; Regional and Junior Olympic Easter National Bars champion
  • Third on bars at 2016 regionals and eighth at JO Eastern Regionals
  • 2015 Indiana State, Regional and JO Eastern National Bars Champion; fifth All-Around at JO Eastern National

  • 2017 & 2018 Region 7 Bar Champion with scores 9.725 and 9.85 respectively
  • 2016 Pennsylvania State Bar Runner-up (9.7)
  • 2016 Region 7 Bar Champion (9.7), Beam Champion (9.6), All-Around Champion
  • 2016 Junior Olympic Nationals Bar Champion (9.75), 10th all-around
