LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s tennis team is geared up for another fall tune-up in its fourth event of 2018 at this weekend’s Country Club of Birmingham Collegiate Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, beginning Friday and running through Sunday.

Hosted by the University of Alabama, UK is one of 14 teams in this year’s field with the Crimson Tide: Belmont, East Tennessee State, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss and UAB.

Teams will compete in a compass format with three singles draws of 16 individuals and three doubles draws of eight duos with each player guaranteed four singles matches and three in doubles.

On Friday, play will open with two rounds of doubles and one of singles with two singles rounds to follow on Saturday. Sunday will hold just the lone remaining rounds of singles and doubles, designated as the finals for the invitational.

UK has already seen plenty of action this fall. The Wildcats are coming off seven singles wins and a doubles victory at the FGCU Collegiate Open last week.
