Kentucky Hosts Morehead State on Thursday Night at The Bell

LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a perfect 2-0-0 start on opening weekend, the Kentucky women’s soccer team will return home to the Bell Soccer Complex on Thursday night for a midweek battle with Morehead State.

The match will kick-off at 7:30 p.m. ET and shown live on the SEC Network+, ESPN app and ESPN+ with Dave Baker (pxp) and former All-American at UK, Stuart Pope (color) on the call. Tickets are available by accessing the UK Ticket Office online at UKathletics.com or via phone.

Kentucky will be taking heaps of momentum into the second weekend of the season after two thrilling wins to open the 2018 campaign. Sophomore Hollie Olding scored the game-winning goal in double overtime on Sunday afternoon in brutally hot conditions at Little Rock to send UK home with a 3-2 win. It was the first multi-goal match in Olding’s career.

On Friday night in the season-opening affair, Yuuka Kurosaki scored in the 87th minute to push the Wildcats past SIUE 2-1 after a dominating performance. The win over SIUE was Kentucky’s first season-opening win since the 2015 season and this marks the first 2-0-0 start for the Wildcats since the 2012 season.

UK and Morehead State have met on three separate occasions, with Kentucky holding the 2-0-1 lead in the series. The last time the two teams met was the 2014 season when UK defeated the Eagles 3-0 in the opening year of the Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington.
