LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky cross country senior Katy Kunc was named to the NCAA Championships field for the second year in a row.

The Championships will take place next Saturday, Nov. 18, at the EP “Tom” Sawyer Park course in Louisville, Ky. The women’s race will begin at 10:45 a.m. ET, followed by the men’s race at 11:45 a.m.

Kunc finished ninth at the NCAA Southeast Regionals on Friday at Virginia’s Panorama Farms course. She ran a 6,000-meter time of 20:32.50, and earned All-Southeast Region honors for the third year in a row.

She placed 33rd in a 6k time of 20:20.30 at the 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, a year ago.

Kunc finished with an all-important top-40 place, meeting the prerequisite to earn All-America honors. She went on to win the SEC title in the 3k steeplechase in outdoor track and field, and earn Second Team All-America honors in that event, placing 11th in her first NCAA final.

The Kentucky women’s team was 11th and the men’s team was ninth at NCAA Southeast Regionals.
