Pennington, Bushamuka Named to ITA Singles Top 125

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its first set of rankings for the 2015-16 campaign on Tuesday afternoon, with senior Beck Pennington and sophomore William Bushamuka both being named among the top 125 singles players in Division I.
Pennington comes into the season ranked No. 39 in the country. The senior enters the season with a career record of 46-30 in singles play. Last year, the Bowling Green, Ky. native played primarily No. 1 for the Wildcats, while accumulating a 4-2 record during Southeastern Conference team play. Pennington also played on the top court in doubles with classmate Kevin Lai, with the duo earning a 4-1 record in 2015.
Bushamuka ranks No. 90 in the nation entering his sophomore season. He comes into the fall season with an 11-6 career mark, following a 4-2 record playing the majority of matches at No. 3 during SEC action in his inaugural season. Bushamuka played at No. 2 in doubles play with junior Jerry Lopez, as the tandem went 4-1 in conference play.

The Wildcats open the fall tournament season in Charlottesville, Virginia, where they will compete in the UVa Ranked 1+1 Invitational from Sept. 17th through the 20th.
