LEXINGTON, Ky. — In its final week of fall practice, the Kentucky baseball team will hold three intrasquad scrimmages as part of its Fall World Series, UK head coach Gary Henderson announced.

UK will hold its three-game intrasquad series, with games on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On Thursday, UK will have first pitch at 2:35 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium, with batting practice scheduled for 1:15 p.m. ET. On Friday, game two of the series will start at 3:15 p.m. ET, with batting practice slated for 1:15 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium. After a practice on Saturday, the series will conclude on Sunday, with game three of the series slated for a 1 p.m. ET first pitch.

The Wildcats return a bevy of pitching talent for the 2011 season, including its entire weekend rotation from a year ago, a trio of potential first-round talents. UK returns dynamic talented arms including sophomore right-hander Jordan Cooper, sophomore southpaw Taylor Rogers and junior 6-foot-9 right-hander Alex Meyer. In addition, UK returns relief veterans in Braden Kapteyn, a 2010 Cape Cod League All-Star, southpaw Mike Kaczmarek and right-hander Nick Kennedy.

Offensively, UK returns Kapteyn, fellow Cape Cod League All-Star Chad Wright and shortstop Taylor Black, who belted 11 homers in his first season at UK in 2010. Outfielder Brian Adams, who got his first start at wide receiver for the football team last weekend, and catchers Luke Maile and Michael Williams give UK some veteran position players.
