LEXINGTON ? The Kentucky baseball team wraps up the fall practice season this week with its annual Fall World Series.

The squad will break up into two teams and compete in a five-game series beginning with game one on Tuesday. After a day off, the teams will play four straight days from Thursday until Sunday to determine the winner.

Leading the black team is senior Shaun Lehmann and junior John Shelby, who batted .352 and .344, respectively, last season. Shelby also led the team with 10 home runs and 52 RBIs. The two combined for 38 stolen bases.

On the blue team, sophomores Antone DeJesus and Collin Cowgill lead the way. DeJesus anchors centerfield for UK and hit .344 a year ago. Cowgill had a stellar summer, leading the Valley Baseball League in home runs with 10 while hitting .306.

The pitching match-up on Tuesday pits newcomer Duran Ferguson for the Blue against the Black?s Craig Snipp.
