LEXINGTON ? Beginning Thursday, the Kentucky baseball team competes in an intra-squad Fall World Series that is the conclusion of five weeks of fall practice.

The Wildcats have been broken up into a Blue Team and a Black Team by way of a coaches draft. The teams will compete in a best-of-five series scheduled through the beginning of next week.

The series wraps up the fall practice period for Kentucky. The team, comprised of 23 newcomers, has been working out at least five days a week since the end of September.

?Our practices have been very, very good,? said Kentucky coach John Cohen. ?It?s been very good and very competitive with a good group of youthful (players). We?re going to have a youthful appearance and we?ll make some mistakes. But I think we?ll have a combination of more athleticism and passion ? things I?m interested in.?

Set to start on Thursday for the Blue team are Ryan Wilkes, Collin Cowgill, Billy Grace, JP Lowen, Russ Smithson, Jesse Barber, Willie Mays, Andrew Levenson, Matt Brady and Dan Reale.

The Black will counter with Antone DeJesus, JB Schmidt, Michael Bertram, John Shelby, Kevin Caldwell, Brian Hastings, Matt Fritts, Steve Deaton, Justin Scutchfield and David Hill.

Thursday?s game one begins at 3 p.m.
