Thank you for your interest in being a student assistant for the Kentucky Athletics Communications & Public Relations office for the 2026-27 school year! We’re excited to get to know you and consider you for admission into our student program.

Key Dates:

Monday, June 29 – Application window formally opens
Friday, July 10 – Application window closes
Wednesday, July 15 – E-mail sent to those candidates receiving a Zoom interview
Week of July 20 – Zoom interviews conducted
Tuesday, July 28 – Finalists notified of acceptance status into the program

Candidate Requirements:

• Must be in good academic standing at the University of Kentucky
• Pass a Federal, State, and University background check upon admission to the program

Application Requirements:

• E-mail a resume + cover letter to Chris Shoals at cmsh223@uky.edu with the subject” 2026-27 Kentucky Athletics Communications Student Assistant Internship”
• If you have any of the following, please attach (not mandatory):
  • Writing sample
  • Any professional social media posts you’ve made for companies or groups
  • List of athletics experiences you’ve had

What We Do:

• Kentucky Athletics social media accounts
• Coordinate interviews with student-athletes and the media
• Help run home games/matches/meets/etc. for all sporting events
• Press conferences
• Working with ESPN/SEC Network
