2014 (Sophomore)

A fixture in the midfield throughout the season, missing just one of UK’s games due to card accumulation … Did not arrive for preseason training until UK?had started its exhibition season, battling international visa issues that kept him in overseas … Netted first career goal at Evansville in a 5-1 win. 

2013 (Freshman)
Played in eight games for the Wildcats as a midfielder … Logged 174 minutes, including a season-high 39 vs. Valparaiso … Fired four shots with one coming on target … Named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

Academic Success
A 4.0 political science major whose academic accomplishments are made all the more impressive by the fact that English isn’t his first language. Sime is from Guadeloupe where French is the primary language.

“Paul is a model student,” Haley said. “He pursues any and all academic opportunities because he has an open mind and a thirst for educational experiences.  His effort and interest in school extend well beyond completing requirements.  His primary goal is not grades, it is knowledge and this results in perfect grades.”

Sime was a 2013-14 and 2014-15 C-USA Academic Medalist and Honor Roll member and also a 2014-15 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar.

Pre-College
Played at the IMG Academy/Pendleton School after coming to the United State from France … Was coached in club by Oscar Pisano from 2009-13 … Earned the coaches award as a freshman and sophomore and was named U-1 MVP as a senior, in addition to IMG Player of the Year honors … Played for IMG Academy with the 14-under team with coach Nolan Sheldon … Played forward as a freshman for IMG Academy, leading the team to the Region C and President Cup Championship … As a sophomore played for Pisano and won the Florida State Cup.

Full name is Paul-Dekara Sime … Born  in Pointe- á -Pitre, France … Sone of Jean-Marie and Hortense Sime … Has an older brother, Ruffin , and four sisters, Andree, Jacquelin, Marthe and Claudine … Brother played soccer for Hiram College … Andree played tennis for Simmons College and Jacqueline played basketball for Trinity University … Was on the honor roll and the headmaster’s academic achievement lists … Worked with the special Olympics before coming to UK.
