Carlota Molina Tabbed SEC Co-Player of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a win in her singles match against a ranked opponent last week, Kentucky women’s tennis player Carlota Molina has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week.
Molina put together a standout performance on Feb. 18 despite the Wildcats’ loss to No. 11 Ohio State, their first ranked competitor of the season. She began the match by teaming up with Lidia Gonzalez to best Kolie Allen and Luna Dormet, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point.
The Gran Canaria, Spain native continued to impress in singles action against the Buckeyes. Playing on court two, she took down No. 21 Isabella Boulais in a 7-6(4), 6-3 decision for the highest-ranked opponent she has defeated in her Wildcat career.
