Kentucky Cross Country Finishes 20th and 22nd at Greater Louisville Classic
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Kentucky raced in the Greater Louisville Classic at Tom Sawyer Park on Saturday morning.
The women’s team finished 20th overall on 588 points in a 5,000-meter competition while the men’s team finished 22nd overall on 540 points over an 8k course.
Middle Tennessee State won both the men’s and women’s races.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Oct. 19 at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Indiana at 11 a.m. ET.
Men’s Team Report
Dylan Allen, who finished 28th in 24:21.80, led Kentucky to a 22nd-place finish in Louisville.
Shane Williams finished 75th in 24:51.00 to be the Wildcats’ No. 2 finisher, while Gabriel Szalay (84th, 24:56.70) and McLean Griffin (172nd, 25:31.70) were UK’s No. 3 and No. 4 finishers respectively.
Finally, Kai Muniz placed 216th in 25:50.00 to round out the top-5 finishers on the men’s side.
Women’s Team Report
Kaylie Kenne led the way for the women’s team, finishing 26th in 17:39.40 to help Kentucky earn a 20th-place finish.
Rachel Boice (41st, 17:48.00), Madisyn Peeples (59th, 18:02.30) and Sydney Burke (266th, 19:36.60) finished in the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 spots for the Wildcats.
Lauryn Grady rounded out the top-5 for UK with a 269th-place finish in 19:39.00.
