Team Records and Series Notes
- This was the 11th season the Blue-White Game was played in Rupp Arena.
- Tonight’s attendance of 15,377 was the third highest in program history for the Blue-White Game. The 2016 crowd of 16,089 is the highest.
- The teams combined to shoot 79.4 percent from the floor (123 of 155). The Blue Team shot a combined 57.7 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from 3-point range. The White Team was 50.6 percent from the floor but 33.3 percent from long range.
- The teams combined for 73 total rebounds with 26 coming by way of offensive snags.
- Kentucky returns to the court Oct. 26 with the first of two exhibition games. UK’s first tune-up will be against Transylvania at 7 p.m. and will air on the SEC Network.
- The regular season begins Nov. 6 with a neutral court date vs. Duke at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN as part of the State Farm Champions Classic in Indianapolis.
In the First Half
- The Blue team’s starting lineup consisted of sophomores Quade Green, Nick Richards and PJ Washington along with freshmen Immanuel Quickley and Keldon Johnson.
- The White team opened with graduate transfer Reid Travis, redshirt freshman Jemarl Baker Jr., and freshmen EJ Montgomery, Tyler Herro and Ashton Hagans.
- Montgomery opened the game with a block on defense and then an eight-foot jumper on the other end for the game’s first points.
- Blue’s first bucket came on an alley-oop from Green to Richards.
- At the first media timeout, Blue was out in front by an 11-6 margin thanks to a 7-0 run over a 1:55 stretch.
- Out of the timeout, White went on a 6-0 run capped by a Herro steal and flush to go ahead 12-11.
- After Blue got a seven-point lead at 27-20, White stormed back with a layup from Travis and a 3-pointer from Herro to trim the lead to just two with 7:41 to go in the half.
- Out of the timeout, Travis sunk a midrange shot to knot things at 27, extending White’s run to 7-0.
- Richards answered on the other end with a drive and slam to get to 12 points in the opening frame.
- Montgomery was the second player on either team to reach double figures in scoring with a traditional and-one to tie the score at 33 with 5:29 to play.
- At the final media timeout of the first half, Blue led 40-39. Johnson and Richards both had 12 points for Blue, while Montgomery and Herro led White with 11 apiece.
- White led Blue at half by a 52-51 score. Travis led all scorers with 16 points and also paced the White squad with seven boards.
- Johnson was Blue’s leading scorer at 15 points. Richards was the team’s top rebounder with seven snares.
In the Second Half
- After intermission the squads changed up. The veteran group of Baker, Travis, Green, Washington and Richards comprised the Blue team.
- The White team was freshmen Montgomery, Johnson, Herro, Quickley and Hagans.
- Montgomery sunk two free throws to open the half’s scoring. Green quickly answered with a make off an offensive rebound on the other end.
- Blue outscored White 13-6 through at the opening media timeout. Green and Travis both had four points apiece for Blue, while Montgomery had four points for White.
- Travis sunk a 3-pointer with 15:24 to go to push his point total for the game to 23 points.
- The veterans strung together a 14-0 run to get Blue’s lead to 23-6 in the second half and 74-58 for the game.
- Washington drained a 3-pointer from the wing to help Blue get in front by a 28-13 margin at the 11:42 mark. It pushed his team-high point total to 10 for the second half.
- Washington remained a perfect 8 for 8 from the floor in the second half with a put back lay in following an offensive rebound to give the Blue team a 39-23 lead with 7:22 remaining.
- Blue eventually won the half by a 53-44 margin. Washington finished with 19 points and Travis had 11 points and six boards. Herro poured in 21 points for the White team off 8-of-9 shooting.

Tyler Herro scored a game-high 34 points with four 3-pointers.
- He poured in 21 points after halftime.
- He also had a team-high four steals.
- Reid Travis finished with a double-double, combining for 27 points and 13 rebounds.
- He shot 13 of 17 (76.5 percent) from the floor and also knocked down his lone 3-point attempt.
- PJ Washington totaled 23 points, four rebounds, two steals, two assists and a block.
- He scored 19 points after halftime and was a perfect 8 for 8 from the field.
- Nick Richards posted 16 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
- Seven of those boards came on the offensive end.
- He also swatted a team-best five shots.
- EJ Montgomery scored 21 points and also had eight rebounds.
- He shot a perfect 3 for 3 from the charity stripe.
- Quade Green scored 17 points and narrowly missed on a double-double with a game-high nine assists.
