LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s soccer team (6-4-1, 2-1-1 SEC) is headed to Nashville, Tenn., to take on the No. 3 Vanderbilt Commodores (10-0-1, 3-0-1 SEC) on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. ET. The match will be streamed on SEC Network+.

The Commodores have the edge in the all-time series record against the Wildcats, going 20-16-2. The two teams dueled last season on Oct. 5 with Vanderbilt earning the 2-1 victory on the road.

Entering Friday’s match, the Wildcats have earned a 6-4-1 record on the season, including a 2-1-1 mark in SEC play. The team had claimed its first 2-0 start in conference matches since 2015, a feat the program has only had four times before. Kentucky is currently tied in fifth with Arkansas in the SEC standings, having earned seven points. Vanderbilt sits in third with 10 points.

Last time out, the Wildcats tied Mississippi State 0-0 at the Bell Soccer Complex on Sunday, Sept. 27. Kentucky dominated in corner kicks with a 10-2 advantage. The Cats finished the day with six shots on goal while the Bulldogs recorded three. The Wildcats were led by freshman Elise Ernest with two shots on goal, while the other four were contributed by Lexi Tylenda, Nadia Ramadan, Katherine Truitt and Teagan Myers.

This campaign, the Wildcats have been efficient on offense, totaling 33 goals on 167 shots and outshooting their opponents 167-99. Kentucky currently ranks in the top-15 nationally and in the top-3 in the SEC in three key categories: total goals (8th NCAA, 3rd SEC, 33), scoring offense (8th NCAA, 3rd SEC, 3.00) and goal differential (15th NCAA, 3rd SEC, 19). The team also places second in the conference and 10th in the country in corner kicks per game, averaging 7.73.

Freshman Kyla Dawn has earned some recognition for her elite play, winning SEC Freshman of the Week twice already this season. The Dallas native heads the team in overall points (20), goals (9), assists (2) and shots on goal (15), ranking among the best in the country through 11 games.

Also contributing at a high level is senior midfielder Nadia Ramadan. The transfer from Alabama has started in every single match, scoring seven goals for the Wildcats. The core of consistency for Kentucky is led by Katherine Truitt and Michelle Moskau, who each have recorded over 900 minutes of play this campaign.

The Commodores have earned a record of 10-0-1, including a conference mark of 3-0-1. Vanderbilt, most recently, took down No. 9 Tennessee, 3-1, on the road. Two of those goals were provided by senior Sydney Watts. The forward has recorded 12 goals, 25 shots-on-goal and 28 points on the season, all team-leading marks.
