Notes
Final Round:

• The Wildcats competed in the final round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate on Wednesday, recording a 10-over-par 298. The Cats assembled a 22-over-par 886 overall to land in eighth place.
  • Florida State climbed two spots on the team leaderboard, going 5-under in the final round and 3-under overall, to become the team champion. Kansas, who had led after the first and second rounds, had an uncharacteristic 10-over in the final round for a 5-over overall to finish in fifth place.
• The field battled through mist and the threat of thunderstorms throughout the final round.
• Similar to rounds one and two, Cathryn Brown, a senior from Eddyville, Kentucky, paced the team in the final round, this time with her best score of the week, a 1-under-par 71. With that, she went 1-under-par 215 overall to finish T9, which marked her second straight top-10 finish at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in as many years.
  • It is the 44th consecutive round that her score has contributed to the team total, a stretch that dates back to her sophomore season in Spring 2025.
  • She went par-or-better all three rounds this week, moving to 38 par-or-better rounds across 85 total rounds in her college career.
  • Brown now has nine finishes inside the top 10 across 29 total events in her college career.
  • After suffering from an unfortunate triple on the par-4 No. 3, she concluded her round with four pars and two birdies in her final six holes of the tournament (hole Nos. 4-9).
• Like Brown, C.A. Carter, a junior from Lexington, Kentucky, also played in this event a year ago. She improved her tournament total and her individual finish this go-around, boasting a 6-over-par 222 for T26, the second-best individual performance in the lineup this week.

Second Round:

• Kentucky improved both its round score and its leaderboard position in the second round Tuesday, turning in a 4-over-par 292 (four shots better than the first round) to find T6 (one spot better than the first round).
  • UK is tied with Ohio State.
• The Wildcats are 10 shots outside the top three and 17 shots behind the team leader, which remains Kansas (5-under-par 571).
• Brown, once again, put together the team’s top score in the second round, pairing her first round even-par 72 with a second round even-par 72.
  • It is the 43rd consecutive round that her score has contributed to the team total, a stretch that dates back to her sophomore season in Spring 2025.
  • With even-par 144 tournament total improved one spot on the individual leaderboard to find T11.
  • The senior is just four shots behind the individual leader (4-under-par 140).
• Brown and C.A. Carter – the team’s two Bluegrass natives – each recorded an eagle on the 503-yard, par-5 No. 13.
  • Brooke Oberparleiter recorded a birdie on the hole.
• Oberparleiter had the biggest improvement of anyone in the lineup, going 1-over-par 73 in the second round Tuesday after going 6-over-par 78 in the opening round Monday.
  • She was not a counting score in the first round but was a counting score in the second round.
  • She also improved six spots on the individual leaderboard, currently T35.

First Round:

• Kentucky is tied with Michigan State for seventh place out of 12 teams on an 8-over after the first round, eight shots back of the top three and 12 shots back of leader Kansas (-4).
• Two players are sitting in the top 20 on the individual leaderboard after the first round – Brown and Isabella Johnson.
• Brown, a senior from Eddyville, Kentucky, who was the team’s stroke-average leader last season (72.1), is pacing the team on an even-par 72.
  • It is the 42nd consecutive round that her score has contributed to the team total, a stretch that dates back to her sophomore season in Spring 2025.
  • Brown led the team with five birdies in the first round, including two in her final four holes, which helped her get back to even par before holes ran out.
  • In 29 tournaments in her college career, she has scored a par-or-better in the first round 13 times.
• Johnson, a junior from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, who transferred to Kentucky after a season at Middle Tennessee, made her first start for Kentucky on Monday.
  • In her first appearance for the Wildcats, she recorded a 1-over to find T16.
• Oberparleiter, a senior from Laurel Spring, New Jersey, made her return to the lineup for the first time since October 2025. She competed in just one tournament last season because of injury.
  • She went 6-over to find T41.

General:

• This is Kentucky’s second consecutive appearance competing at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, which is in its third straight year of hosting a women’s field.
  • In Fall 2025, UK finished in third place, while it also produced the individual medalist and the co-runner-up in returner Brown.
• The 12 teams competing this season include Arizona, No. 11 Duke, Findlay (No. 3 in Division II), No. 28 Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, Naval Academy, North Carolina A&T, Ohio State, No. 20 Oklahoma State and No. 4 Texas A&M.
• There are 60 players in the field.
