LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s soccer team (3-1-0, 0-0-0 SEC) is set to return to The Bell after almost two weeks on the road for some Sunday night soccer as they host Wright State (2-1-1, 0-0-0 Horizon). The annual Bark at The Bell match is set to begin at The Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington at 7 p.m. ET and will also be available to stream on the SEC Network +.

Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the game for Bark at The Bell, which will offer free admission to the public as usual. Further details are listed below:

Dogs will be permitted through the berm side gate. All dogs must be kept on a leash while at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.

A maximum of (1) dog per person is permitted. Dogs must stay on the grass berm and are not permitted in the seating bowl at any time (this includes using the restrooms, concessions, or bookstore). Owners are permitted to bring a water bowl for their dog, but dog food is prohibited. Kentucky Athletics reserves the right to refuse entry to any dog or require a dog to exit the stadium.

 

Bring your dog to Bark at the Park if he/she:

  • Does well on-leash and is not aggressive toward people or other dogs
  • Is friendly toward humans and not excessively fearful
  • Is on a leash and always supervised by an adult

 

Participants are expected to practice responsible pet ownership. If your dog is an aggressive breed or has aggressive tendencies, do not bring him/her to this event. Do not bring your dog if it is unpredictable in crowds, with other dogs, and/or with strangers. Kentucky Athletics reserves the right to refuse entry to any dog or require a dog to leave for any reason.

The Wildcats return home on Sunday following their first loss of the season against No. 8/11 Ohio State by a narrow score of 2-1. They saw lots of scoring opportunities in the matchup in Columbus, but it was not enough to finish with a win.

Freshman Kyla Dawn has led the offensive attack, leading the team with four goals and two assists. She was named SEC Freshman of the Week last Monday, Aug. 24.

Midfielder Nadia Ramadan, Thursdays goalscorer, looks to continue making an impact on both ends as well. Ramadan has scored three goals from the penalty marker this season, one of few individuals to do so in the country so far.

On the defensive end, center backs Michelle Moskau and Katherine Truitt continue to play heavy minutes on the back line for the Wildcats. Truitt is the only Kentucky player to play every single minute of all four games so far this season. Behind them on defense is Megan Holland, who recorded four saves against Ohio State for seven total on the season.

Wright State is coming off a 3-2 loss to a strong Marshall team on the road. They look to bounce back and are led in goals with three by Caitlin Burger this season.

The women’s soccer squad will close out this week of play and look toward next week when they take on in-state rival Louisville on Thursday, Sep. 3 at 7:30 p.m. ET. They will also celebrate senior day on Sunday, Sep. 6 at 1 p.m. against Bowling Green State, where they will honor seniors Nadia Ramadan, Katherine Truitt, and Isabella Winton in a pregame ceremony.
