Agustin Lopez Named to Hermann Trophy Players to Watch List

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kentucky midfielder Agustin Lopez has been named to the 2026 United Soccer Coaches Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watchlist, per the organization’s release.

The Hermann Trophy is the highest individual honor in collegiate soccer and is presented annually to the top male and female players at the Division I level.

Lopez is coming off an incredible sophomore season for the Wildcats in 2025, earning First Team All-Sun Belt, his second career postseason all-conference honor, and United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team. He appeared in 14 matches last season, making 11 starts, scoring four goals, which finished third on the team, two assists and 10 points.

The Argentine international recorded his first career brace in a 2-0 win over Coastal Carolina last season and will look to continue to lead the Wildcats’ attack heading into the 2026 season, coming off a Sun Belt Regular Season title in 2025.

“Entering the 2026 season, these previous honorees represent some of the best at their positions,” said Chris Przemieniecki, Senior College All-America Administrator. “As pre-season training opens, we are pleased to recognize these outstanding student-athletes from our member schools.”

The Wildcats will close their preseason slate this Friday, Aug. 14, at home against UAB at 7:30 p.m., before the regular season opener on Aug. 20 against Western Michigan.
