Kentucky Men’s and Women’s Soccer Set for Fan Day, Preseason Openers on Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. –  The Kentucky Wildcats men’s and women’s soccer programs are set to kick off a new season, as well as the 2026-27 athletic calendar, tomorrow with an exhibition doubleheader at the Bell Soccer Complex, serving as both team’s annual Fan Day promotion.

The Wildcats are set for their first action on Saturday, hosting local USL Championship side Lexington Sporting Club for Fan Day at 5 p.m. Both teams will participate in a post-match autograph session, and the defending Gainbridge Super League champions will have their trophy on display for fans.

After their lone preseason match, Kentucky will open their campaign on Wednesday, August 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET against Detroit Mercy in Lexington, before wrapping up opening weekend against Kent State at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 16 for Junior Wildcat Club Day and Youth Team Day.

Following the completion of the women’s match, the men’s team will kick off their preseason slate against Northern Kentucky at 7:30 p.m. Immediately after the match, there will be an autograph and photo opportunity with the Kentucky players.

Saturday’s match will feature as the first of two exhibition matches for the Wildcats. On Aug. 14, the Cats will face the UAB Blazers at The Bell in the preseason finale, prior to the start of the 2026 regular season on Aug. 20 vs. Western Michigan.

Admission to all 2026 Kentucky Soccer regular season home matches will be free to the public.
