Eight Wins, Seven Top 10 Marks Fall for Wildcats on Opening Day of Jim Green Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats completed day one of the first of two home outdoor meets this season at the Jim Green Invitational, totaling eight event wins and seven top 10 program marks.

Freshman Addison Stadsholt kicked off the day in the women’s hammer throw, finishing atop the leaderboard with a season-best mark of 56.36m/184-11. Freshman Gwyn Lori placed fourth in the event, also posting a season-best mark of 52.84m/173-4.

Kate Powers added a second event win to the Wildcats’ tally in the women’s hammer throw invite with a final distance of 59.83m/196-3.

Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera claimed two wins in two separate events including the women’s 400m hurdles and 800m finals. In the former, she finished atop the leaderboard with a time of 56.01 and ran the third-fastest time in UK history in the 800m with a mark of 2:02.90.

In the men’s half of 400m hurdles, Anthony Waterman placed third, nearly breaking the Kentucky program record with a career-best time of 49.97.

A’Laji Bradley moved into No. 9 in the UK record books in the women’s 200m event, finishing atop the leaderboard with a personal best time of 22.80.

The Wildcats would go on to collect four more event wins on the day, including Brock Conrad in the men’s hammer throw, Denzel Simusialela in the men’s 200m and Morgan Dick in the women’s 3000m steeplechase.

Day two of the Jim Green Invitational will kick off tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. ET with the women’s discus throw and conclude with the men’s 4x400m relay at 4:15 p.m. ET.
