LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the 33rd time in program history—and the tenth consecutive tournament—Kentucky has been selected to participate in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship. The Wildcats will begin their run in the 2026 edition of the tournament at the Columbus Regional from May 1-2 at the Auer Tennis Complex on the campus of The Ohio State University.
Kentucky will take on California in the First Round on Friday, May 1 at 10 a.m. ET. Host and No. 3 national seed Ohio State will face Buffalo in the other opening round matchup at 1 p.m. ET, with the two winners meeting in a Second Round contest on Saturday, May 2. The winner of the Columbus Regional will punch its ticket to Super Regionals, held on campus sites on either May 8 or 9.
Kentucky has made every NCAA Tournament since 2016, highlighted by three consecutive quarterfinal appearances from 2022-2024 and a program-best national runner-up finish in 2022. The Wildcats will open NCAA Tournament play in Columbus for the third time in program history, exiting in the First Round in 2016 and the Second Round in 2018.
The Wildcats enter the tournament with a 17-13 record, including a 5-9 mark in Southeastern Conference play. Kentucky played 16 matches against top 25 opponents this season, earning six wins. Highlighting the Cats’ regular season rap sheet are victories against Big Ten Regular Season and Tournament Champions Michigan State, No. 9 national seed Oklahoma, and No. 12 national seed Georgia.
