Four Top 10 Marks Fall for the Wildcats on Day Two of Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – The Kentucky Wildcats totaled one event win and four top 10 all-time program marks today on day two of the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

Julia Gunnell and Dahlia Beasley continued their run in the women’s heptathlon to kick off day two in Austin, combining for another five more personal records, including a third-place finish and a career-high 5,514 total points for Gunnell, the fourth-highest total in program history. Beasley also moved into the top 10 program marks list, coming in at No. 6 with a 10th-place finish and 5,143 points.

Freshman Brock Conrad added a third top 10 mark to the Wildcat ledger, placing fifth with a final distance of 62.76m/215-11. That mark moves him into sixth place among the all-time ranks after just his second career event.

Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera featured as another freshman looking to continue to make her mark during the early portion of her Wildcat career after a record-setting campaign during the indoor season. Kerubo Nyagisera also broke into the Kentucky top 10 times in the prelims of the women’s 400m hurdles, finishing second to advance to tomorrow’s final. Her time of 56.73 moves her into No. 7 all-time at Kentucky.

2025 SEC 800m Champion Janet Jepkemboi Amimo made a statement in her return to the event this evening, winning the first 800m race of her season with a time of 2:03.88. Tonight’s win brings the Wildcat sophomore’s career win total in the event to three, continuing her already storied legacy at UK.

Day three of the Texas Relays will open tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET with the men’s discus throw event.
