Kentucky Heads South For Final Weekend of March
LEXINGTON, Ky. –Kentucky (12-7, 3-4 SEC) is set for its penultimate road trip of the 2026 regular season, heading south for three matches this weekend. The Wildcats will begin in the Music City on Friday, March 27, playing Austin Peay (4-9, 0-0 ASUN) at 11 a.m. ET before squaring off with No. 17 Vanderbilt (14-7, 4-5 SEC) at 6 p.m. ET. Both matches on Friday will be at the Currey Tennis Center on the campus of Vanderbilt University. Kentucky will close the weekend at No. 6 Mississippi State (16-3, 7-2 SEC) on Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. ET.
This weekend’s stretch continues a seven-match stretch in conference play where the Cats will only play top 25 opponents. Kentucky is 4-6 against ranked opponents this season.
In the singles rankings, No. 22 Eli Stephenson leads the charge, joined by No. 55 Jack Loutit, No. 89 Charlelie Cosnet, and No. 99 Nicolas Arseneault. Loutit and Stephenson also feature in the doubles rankings, with the top Kentucky pair slotting at No. 24. Matt Rankin and Nicolas Arseneault sit at No. 48 in the ITA Doubles Rankings.
Stephenson has led the way for Kentucky this season, holding a team-high 22 singles wins and 11 singles victories against ranked opponents. Playing at the top line for the first time in his career, the Louisville native holds a 5-3 record at the No. 1 court. The All-American also plays at the No. 1 line in doubles, teaming up with Jack Loutit for ten victories, with seven of those against ranked opponents.
Charlelie Cosnet has been the top Wildcat during the first half of SEC play, holding a 6-3 record in conference matches across the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. In doubles alongside Martin Breysach, Cosnet holds the best doubles record on the team at 10-5.
Kentucky will close out its home slate next weekend, welcoming No. 11 Georgia to the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex for Senior Day on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. ET.
