Carly Sleeman Hits Solo HR in 7-1 Loss to No. 15 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Junior Carly Sleeman hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning Saturday, but the Kentucky Softball team couldn’t overcome a four-run first inning and three-run sixth as No. 15 Texas A&M claimed a series-clinching 7-1 win over the Wildcats at Davis Diamond.

The series will conclude Sunday at 2 p.m. ET with the game live on SEC Network+.

The Aggies scored in bunches early and late Saturday afternoon as Texas A&M struck for four early runs in the bottom of the first inning, and then after the Kentucky pitching staff of Hailey Nutter and McKenzie Oslanzi held them for the next four innings scoreless, TAMU struck for three in the bottom of the sixth to salt the game away and take stranglehold of the series.

Texas A&M improves to 21-10 on the year and is now 4-1 in SEC play. Kentucky falls to 20-11 and is 1-7 in the SEC after the game Saturday.

Hailey Nutter started the game, allowing four runs, all earned and went the opening three innings of the game. McKenzie Oslanzi then entered, throwing the final four innings of the game with three runs allowed on six hits in a multi-strikeout effort.
