Wildcats Close Out Day Two of Outdoor Season Opener

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Kentucky Wildcats closed out the final day of the UCF Black and Gold Challenge today in Orlando, Fla. to open the 2026 outdoor season.

This weekend, the Wildcats totaled seven events wins and seven top 10 program marks, including three wins and top 10 marks coming during today’s events.

In the day’s field events, Kate Powers (Discus), Grayson Brashear (Discus) and Devin Sealey (High Jump) each picked up a top five finish in their respective events.

Opening the day’s track events, Anthony Waterman ran a personal best time of 13.71 to win the men’s 110m hurdles prelims, moving the Wildcat sophomore into No. 6 on the all-time Kentucky leaderboard. Waterman would go on to finish fourth in the final race.

Camden Bentley and Rukia Nusra Omulisia both advanced to the women’s 100m hurdles final with a pair of qualifying times in the prelim event. Bentley would go on to finish second in the final with a time of 13.10, just .02 off her career best.

In the first of two relay events on the day, the Wildcats placed second in the men’s and women’s 4x100m relays, with the men’s team crossing the finish line at 39.40 and the women’s team at 43.90.

Kentucky swept the women’s 800m with Lyric Olson and Doricah Minsari Isoe both claiming the top two spots and a pair of top 10 program marks. Olson’s time of 2:04.02 landed at No. 6 all-time at UK and Minsari Isoe’s time of 2:04. 70 came in at No. 9.

In the men’s half of the 800m, Patrick Faust and Levi Kipkurui Bichii both placed in the top five, with Faust finished second with a career-best time of 1:48.83 and Kipkurui Bichii taking fifth with a time of 1:50.31 in his outdoor debut.

TK Pahuwa, in his Kentucky outdoor debut, won the men’s 400m event, clearing the rest of the field by nearly half a second. He crossed the finish line with a personal-best time and the sixth best mark in in Wildcat history at 46.15.

In the men’s and women’s 4x400m relays, the Wildcats finished second and sixth, respectively, with times of 3:08.91 and 3:44.67.

Next up on the schedule for the Wildcats is a trip to Raleigh, N.C. for the annual Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State, on March 26-28.
