Kentucky STUNT Wins Two Games in California on Friday
ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Kentucky STUNT team won two games on Friday, beating Cal Poly 30-14 and later topping Vanguard 25-1.
In game one, Kentucky took the lead against Cal Poly in the first quarter, partner stunts. The Cats earned four points compared to just two for the Mustangs. In the second quarter, pyramids and tosses, UK extended its lead by claiming six points while Cal Poly won just two. The Cats led 10-4 at halftime.
The third quarter, jumps and tumbling, saw Cal Poly earn four points while UK got three. Still, the Cats took a 13-8 lead into the fourth quarter. In that final stanza, team routine, Kentucky put the game away by earning 17 points, while Cal Poly got just six.
The second game saw Kentucky take a 4-0 lead over Vanguard in the first quarter. UK extended its lead in the second quarter, earning five points to just one for the Lions. Kentucky took a 9-1 lead into the half.
The Cats swept all four routines in quarter three and took a 13-1 lead into the final stanza. Kentucky dominated quarter four, winning all 12 points to finish off the victory.
Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, facing UC Davis and Jessup in Rocklin, California. Game times are 1 p.m. ET and 3 p.m. ET, respectively.
