LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis (2-0) heads to Durham, N.C. for play this weekend, their first away trip of the season, to take on No. 7 Duke on Friday at 5 p.m. and JMU at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The Kentucky women’s tennis squad is coming off a 2-0 start the past two weekends at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex in Lexington. The Wildcats have defeated the Eastern Kentucky Colonels and Miami (OH) Redhawks so far, only dropping one singles match in total, led by seniors Zoe Hammond and Ellie Myers, and returners Asuncion Jadue and Julia Zhu.

A tall task stands ahead for the Wildcats on Friday, as Duke comes into the match as the No. 7 women’s team in the country. The Blue Devils recently clinched a ITA Indoors Championship birth and are riding a 13-match home win streak. On Saturday, Kentucky will face James Madison at the Duke indoor facility. They are coming off a tough loss at Princeton 4-3.

Women’s tennis aims to keep their unbeaten mark in check, and looks forward to the challenge ahead. Fans that would like to follow along for both of the Wildcats matches this weekend can check out the Duke Athletics website for a watch link, as well as live scoring available on the Duke Sidearm Stats channel.
