Kentucky Guard Jaland Lowe Out for the Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky guard Jaland Lowe will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury that will require surgery, head coach Mark Pope announced on Monday.

Lowe played nine games for the Wildcats this season, averaging 8.0 points and 2.4 assists per game. He scored a season-high 21 points at Alabama on Jan. 3 and made his first start of the season against Missouri on Jan. 7. The Missouri City, Texas, native was integral in UK’s come-from-behind upset of No. 22 St. John’s on Dec. 20. Lowe contributed 13 points, five rebounds and a pair of assists – all coming after halftime.

UK returns to action on Wednesday and will face LSU on the road. Tip is set for 7 p.m. ET and the game will air on SEC Network.
