Opening statement…
“Good win for us. It wasn’t always pretty, but I really like what we’re doing and how we’re continuing to gain chemistry with each other and gel. We’re still a work in progress, but we show flashes of doing some very special things. Tonight was a good win, the first power opponent heading into this weekend, so it was really good for us. That was our last time here for a while, so we wanted to make sure we came out and hopefully the fans will miss us and they’ll come back. It was a great opportunity for us, it was teacher appreciation night, which was special to me because my wife sacrificed a lot, gave up her career as a teacher to follow and support me. Understanding the importance of what our teachers do for us, I always say [to his wife] “Your job is more important than mine” and the ways that she goes out to teach our youth. So it was a really good win for us, I’m excited where we can go, with a lot of hard work.”
“On Clara being unguardable in her step back…?”
“I don’t know about unguardable, I mean I can guard her…but it’s pretty impressive. I won’t say which one but when she made one of those fadeaways, one of the refs ran by and said “that was nasty” and it is and she’s getting it down pat and understanding where to get to her spots. I think the next part of our offense, because she’s getting doubled a lot, I think she’s the best passing post player in the country. So now if someone is doubling off her, Jordan’s going to have to start diving. So I think the next step’s what’s going to happen, but then playing exceptionally well on both ends of the floor.”

On learning and growing for away games…
“Yeah, it’s the same thing like when we go to Louisville, and obviously that’s going to be a crazy environment, because when they came here last year, that was a crazy environment, but it was for us. So having the other end, I think that will teach us a lot. Staying locked in, like Jordan said, like through the adversity, and then continuing it when we play, like Maryland and teams like that, it’s going to be good games for us. I’m just excited. We’re looking forward to it again.”
On the difference between this game and Marshall…
“Yeah, along with that, I think just learning from our slow start at Marshall and telling ourselves to not let that happen again because if you can get the energy and the shots falling early, it just snowballs and continues to keep building up the game.”
On her fade away shot…
“Yeah, I think coach was teaching me that shot like first day on camps, so definitely been a work in progress with that. It’s coming along, getting a lot better, knowing when to use it, not to just rely on it, too.”
#0, Jordan Obi
On an upcoming road trip…
“Playing in different environments, staying focused wherever we are regardless of the situation. We just have to stay locked in.”
On the major difference of making shots…
“I think our energy from the beginning and our communication. I said this earlier, but when our communications on point, I feel like we are clicking and it helps our energy at times, so I think thats it.”
On the physical part of this game…
“I think the score doesn’t matter. At halftime, Coach was saying you play the score like it is 0-0. Just staying tough, staying physical, not trying to stray away from content, and embracing it.”
