- Kentucky began the second half with the starters.
- Louisville pushed the lead to as many as 20 points at 78-58.
- A barrage of 3-pointers and a follow dunk by Kam Williams pulled the Wildcats to 83-75 at the 7:45 media timeout.
- UK cut it to 87-81, prompting a Louisville timeout at 4:45.
- A Chandler 3-pointer made it 88-84 with four minutes to go but the Wildcats got no closer.
