Men’s Tennis Releases 2025 Fall Schedule
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Men’s Tennis Head Coach Cedric Kauffman released the Wildcats’ 2024 fall schedule on Wednesday, with a total of seven tournaments on the slate. The 2025-26 season will mark the second year of the pilot program that shifted the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships to the fall portion of the calendar.
In lieu of qualifying for the individual national tournament via conference automatic qualifiers and rankings spots, the 2025 fall season will once again feature qualifying events with quota sports organized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Before beginning the NCAA qualification portion of the schedule, select Wildcats will compete in three other events. Age-eligible, accepted athletes will travel to New York, N.Y. to compete in the junior event at the US Open, set to run from August 31-September 6. The event, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, runs alongside the second week of the year’s final Grand Slam.
After a week off, the Cats will return to the court from September 15-21, splitting squads at the Columbus Challenger and ITF M15 Fayetteville Futures. A stop on the ATP Challenger Tour, the Columbus Challenger will take place at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center on the campus of Ohio State University. The Fayetteville Futures will be at the Billingsley Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas and is a stop on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
The first NCAA qualification opportunity will take place from September 20-28 at the prestigious ITA All-American Championships. This year’s tournament will take place at the Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. and feature 10 singles bids and four doubles entries available to athletes. The tournament will consist of three draws—pre-qualifying, qualifying, and main draw—with each draw feeding into the next until the champion is crowned. NCAA quota spots are awarded to the 8 main draw quarterfinalists and two main draw consolation finalists in singles and the four main draw semifinalists in doubles.
The next qualification opportunity will take place at the annual ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships held from October 9-14. Hosted by Purdue at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Ind., the region’s two singles finalists and doubles champion will earn bids for the season-end tournament.
From November 6-9, the final qualification tournament on the Wildcats’ schedule will take place. Debuting in 2024, the second annual ITA South Sectional Championships will feature athletes from the Ohio Valley, Southern, and Southeast regions. The tournament will be hosted in Athens, Ga. and will be hosted by Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Spots at NCAAs will be reserved for the four semifinalists and two quarterfinal playoff winners in singles and the finalists and third place playoff winner in doubles.
64 singles players and 32 doubles teams will compete at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships from November 18-23 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. Last year, junior Jack Loutit qualified for his first individual NCAA championship in singles, extending a streak of five consecutive singles tournaments in which a Wildcat has been represented.
Seven Kentucky players from a season ago are returning to the roster for the 2025-25 season, including ITA Doubles All-Americans Loutit and Eli Stephenson, All-SEC First Team and ITA Ohio Valley Region Rookie of the Year Antoine Ghibaudo, and All-SEC athletes Jaden Weekes and Charlelie Cosnet. Two freshmen will also join the squad in Nicolas and Mikael Arseneault. The twins from Richmond Hill, Ontario are the top two Canadian junior players, with the former making his name known to the tennis world by earning a first-round win in his ATP Tour debut at the Masters 1000 National Bank Open in Toronto last month.
The 2026 spring schedule, which features the team portion of the 2025-2026 season, will be released at a later date.
