2002: Outdoor – Won his second consecutive SEC Championship in the shot put with a toss of 63-06.75…Took first-place honors in the shot put four times…His best throw of the season came at the Penn Relays where he took the title with a throw of 64-03.25…Also threw discus in four meets, finishing fourth at the Stanford Invitational with a toss of 171-02.00. Indoor – Claimed the SEC title in the shot put with a heave of 63-02.00 before taking seventh at the NCAA Championship, earning his third All-America honor…In the fall of 2001, traveled as a member of the US Junior National team to the Pan American Games in Sante Fe, Argentina, smashing the event record with throw of 65-04.25 in the shot put, nearly ten feet more than his closest competitor… Earned USATF Athlete of the Week honors following his performance in Argentina.

2001: Outdoor – Opened the season with a second-place finish in the discus throw at the Hurricane Invitational…Took fourth in the discus at the SEC Five-Way Meet in March before adding a second-place showing in the event at the Texas Relays…His NCAA automatic qualifying-throw of 64-11.50 at the Mt. SAC Relays in April broke the UK shot put record…Finished second at the SEC Outdoor Championships in the shot put after a throw of 63-08.25…Smashed school record again at Georgia Tech Invitational with throw of 66-00.50…Claimed fourth at NCAA Championships with throw of 64-03.25 to earn his second All-America honor. Indoor – Won his first SEC title in the shot put… Finished third in the shot put at NCAA Championships to claim his first All-America honor…Became the top-ranked junior-aged athlete in the world with his toss of 65-10.50 in the Wildcat Speed Meet, his first performance as at UK…Finished fifth in the shot put at the 2000 Junior World Championships.High School: Won the Massachusetts’ state shot put title as senior with a state record throw of 67-10.75… Finished second in the event at both the Nike Indoor Classic and Footlocker National Scholastics Championships in 2000… Won the shot put titles at the Golden West Invitational and the USA Junior National Championships… Ranked first nationally outdoors in the 16-pound shot by Track & Field News with a top heave of 59-10.50 and second indoors and outdoors in the 12-pound shot… Was named All-Conference seven times, conference champion on six occasions, All-State seven times, state champion five times and All-America seven times in high school… Was named the Boston Globe Indoor Athlete of the Year… Holds indoor and outdoor state and New England shot-put records… Also lettered three years in football, earning honorable-mention All-Conference honors as a junior.
