Dazia Lawrence Named to the SEC Community Service Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Kentucky guard Dazia Lawrence has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, it was announced by the league office Wednesday.
The Wildcat, a redshirt senior guard from Greenville, North Carolina, has compiled more than 100 hours of community service during her college career at Charlotte and Kentucky.

Her community service has ranged from being heavily involved with the Boys and Girls Club, which enables young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens, to spending time in local elementary schools, including greeting and welcoming kids on their first day of school, to planning and executing an athletic department wide book drive as a Niner.
She also has spent her college career organizing several opportunities for her fellow student-athletes to serve the Title I – at-risk children and youth – communities during her time at Charlotte.
Lawrence played four seasons at Charlotte before transferring to Kentucky last Spring.
In 26 starts at UK, she is currently averaging 12.8 points per game and 2.3 3-pointers per game, shooting better than 48.0 percent from the field and 43.0 percent from the arc. In fact, her 2.3 3-pointers per game is ranked seventh in the SEC, while her 43.1 percent from the arc is ranked second in the conference.
In a triumph over Mississippi State on Jan. 2, she knocked down seven 3-pointers, one shy of the single-game program record. She also recently eclipsed 1,500 career points this season, too, against No. 7/7 LSU on Feb. 23.
This season, she also adds 2.2 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists per game and 0.9 steals per game thus far this season.
Prior to her time in Lexington, she combined for 1,170 points, 287 rebounds, 162 assists and 133 steals in four seasons at Charlotte, with the bulk of her production added during her junior and senior years as a Niner. There, she was a two-time, all-conference first teamer.
