Isabella Magnelli Named SEC Specialist of the Week
Kentucky gymnast Isabella Magnelli was named the Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week on Tuesday following her performance in last Friday’s dual meet at No. 1 Oklahoma. The fifth year from Suffern, N.Y. scored a pair of 9.950s on the vault and balance beam—both season highs—to help the eighth-ranked Wildcats post their highest road score of the season and score over 197 points for the third time in 2025.
Magnelli put together one of the best performances of her five years as a Wildcat against the top-ranked Sooners, scoring her first two marks of 9.950 on the season and posting multiple 9.950s in the same meet for the first time in her career.
Magnelli stuck her front handspring pike ½ vault to set a new season best—and equal her career best— of 9.950 on the event. She currently ranks No. 7 in the NCAA on the event and has featured in the top ten every week this season.
Magnelli also posted a 9.950 on the balance beam to take the event title against the top-ranked Sooners, setting a new season high. The veteran Wildcat has been ultra consistent on the event, as the four-time All-American on the apparatus has scored 9.9 or higher in all five meets this season. She currently ranks No. 4 in the country on the event, making her one of 12 gymnasts in the NCAA and one of nine in the SEC that rank in the top ten on at least two different events. Magnelli also contributes in the Wildcats’ floor lineup.
Kentucky will return to Historic Memorial Coliseum for its only multi-meet homestand of the season with its non-conference finale against Temple this weekend. The Valentine’s Day meet will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, February 14 at will be streamed live on the SEC Network +. Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster.
