No. 8 Kentucky Posts 197.225 in Setback at No. 1 Oklahoma
NORMAN, Okla. – Behind event wins from Isabella Magnelli on the balance beam and Hailey Davis on the floor exercise, No. 8 Kentucky (4-3, 2-2 SEC) posted its best road score of the season in a 197.225-197.825 defeat at the hands of No. 1 Oklahoma (10-0, 4-0 SEC). The score is Kentucky’s third 197+ effort of the season and first in a road environment.
The Wildcats put together their most consistent performance of the 2025 season thus far, scoring 49.275 or better on all four apparatus. Although Kentucky did not post an event single best in any rotation, the Cats saw a team score delta of less than one-tenth of a point between all four scores.
Isabella Magnelli put together one of the best meets of her career, as the fifth year senior score two 9.950s—one on vault and one on beam— to set two season bests, one career best, and win her third beam title of the season and 12th of her illustrious Kentucky career.
Hailey Davis also carded her best night of the season—posting season best scores on both of her events and winning her third floor title of the season and sixth of her Wildcat career. The fifth year posted a 9.875 on the uneven bars and a career-high equaling score of 9.950 on the floor exercise.
All-Arounder Skylar Killough-Wilhelm kept her good form going with a season-best score of 39.500 to place third behind two of the top three ranked gymnasts in the nation.
The Wildcats began the meet on the uneven bars, posting a solid score of 49.275. A leadoff 9.825 from Isabella Rivelli and a 9.800 from Ryan Noonan set up a stellar season debut from senior Annie Riegert. Competing in her first routine on any apparatus this season, the senior just missed her career high with a 9.850 performance. Davis followed the momentum from Riegert with a season best score of 9.875, thanks in part to a stuck double layout dismount. Delaynee Rodriguez and Killough-Wilhelm closed the opening rotation with strong scores of 9.850 and 9.875, respectively.
Kentucky then rotated to vault, scoring a 49.350—its best score since opening night. Cecily Rizo delivered a season high score of 9.850 for her Yurchenko Full to set the tone, followed by a 9.775 from Noonan’s Yurchenko half-on, half-off. Makenzie Wilson delivered a 9.850 for her front handspring pike half, setting up Magnelli’s 9.950 for the same vault. Killough-Wilhelm posted a career-high vault score of 9.925—the first career best she has set as a Wildcat—for her upgraded Yurchenko 1.5 and Rodriguez closed the rotation with a 9.725 Yurchenko Full.
The Wildcats rotated to floor, posting a 49.275 in the third rotation. Three Wildcats—Rodriguez, Magnelli, and Killough-Wilhelm—all scored 9.825s before Creslyn Brose delivered a 9.850 in her first appearance of the night. Davis delivered a showstopping performance in her usual anchor spot to boost the Cats, posting a 9.950 to score above the 9.9 barrier for the ninth straight meet, dating to last season.
Kentucky closed out the meet with a 49.350 on the balance beam, marking the Wildcats’ only team event win on the night. Rodriguez opened the rotation with poise once again, score a solid 9.850 that was followed by a 9.800 from Brose. Sharon Lee continued to shine in her role as a beam specialist, scoring a 9.850. Chesney Bennett posted a 9.750 in her only appearance of the night and Killough-Wilhelm ended her season-best all-around performance with a 9.875. Magnelli stole the show on the balance beam to put an exclamation point on the meet, scoring a season-high 9.950 to win the event and continue her streak of 9.9+ performances to open the season.
Following Friday’s meet, Kentucky will begin its only multi-meet homestand of the season with its non-conference finale against Temple. The Valentine’s Day meet will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, February 14 at Historic Memorial Coliseum and will be streamed live on the SEC Network +. Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster.
