Clara Strack scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the 12th-ranked Kentucky women’s basketball team won at Georgia 78-64 on Sunday.

Kentucky (16-1, 5-0 Southeastern Conference) got 24 points and eight assists from Georgia Amoore, while Amelia Hassett added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Amoore started the scoring, drilling a three from the left wing just 10 seconds into the contest. After a Georgia layup, UK got a basket from Strack, another three from Amoore and a Hassett layup to lead 10-1. After the Bulldogs made their first basket of the game, Amoore drove to the hoop for a layup, making it 12-3.

Georgia hit a free throw to get within eight but Amoore hit her third three of the game, giving UK a 15-4 lead. A Strack fadeaway and a Hassett layup made it 19-4 and forced a Georgia timeout. Layups by Hassett and Strack gave the Cats a 23-4 lead, and that would be the score after one quarter.

In the second quarter, the Cats got a basket from Teonni Key before a Georgia three. Key then scored again, and added a free throw, giving UK a 28-7 advantage. After a pair of Georgia free throws, UK got a Strack layup and an Amoore three to lead 33-9.

The Cats would go up 35-11 on another Strack basket, but the Bulldogs would score eight in a row, getting within 35-19. After another Georgia basket, Strack made a layup and the subsequent free throw, extending the lead to 39-21. An Amoore bucket and a Hassett three gave the Cats a 44-21 advantage. That would be the halftime score. Amoore had 16 points in the first half and Strack had 13.

The Bulldogs scored the first two points of the second half before Amoore hit her fifth three of the game, giving UK a 47-23 lead. After a Georgia three, Saniah Tyler hit a three of her own, extending the UK lead to 50-26. From there, the Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 50-34. A Strack basket ended the run, making it 52-34 Cats.

Kentucky would stretch the lead to 19 points, 56-37, before Georgia scored five in a row to make the score 56-42. The Cats got a free throw from Strack just before the end of the period and UK led 57-42 through three quarters.

A Strack three stared the fourth-quarter scoring. After a Georgia free throw, Amoore scored, giving Kentucky a 62-43 lead. The Bulldogs scored the next five points before a Hassett three made it 65-48. Kentucky would maintain a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game and would take home a 14-point victory.

Kentucky returns to action on Thursday, facing Texas A&M in College Station. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on the SEC Network.
