Brooklyn DeLeye and Emma Grome Voted as AVCA All-Americans
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Volleyball players Brooklyn DeLeye and Emma Grome were named 2024 American Volleyball Coaches’ Association All-Americans on Wednesday morning, the organization announced.
DeLeye, who was named a finalist for the AVCA National Player of the Year on Tuesday morning, was voted as a first team member, with Grome, who earned All-America status for the fourth-straight season, being placed on the second team. DeLeye was an honorable mention member of the All-America teams in 2023, and now becomes the 20th Kentucky Volleyball player to be named first, second or third team all-America since the program’s inception.
DeLeye was one of two Southeastern Conference players to be named to the 14-member first team, joining Kennedy Martin of Florida. Grome, a native of Loveland, Ohio who now holds the assists record at the University of Kentucky in the rally-scoring era with over 5,000 dished out, was one of four SEC players on the second team, joining Nina Cajic (Tennessee), Logan Lednicky (Texas A&M) and Madisen Skinner (Texas).
The Wildcats joined Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Penn State, Stanford, Creighton, Purdue and Louisville as the only teams in the nation to have two or more players on the first two teams combined.
