Kentucky Diving Alumna Kyndal Knight Closes USA Diving Winter National Championships With 3m Bronze
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Alumna Kyndal Knight (Class of 2023) earned bronze to close the 2024 USA Diving Winter National Championships in Bloomington, Indiana. Knight picked up the medal in the 3-meter final with a score of 566.00 points. It is her second medal of the competition after earning a silver medal in the 3-meter synchronized final alongside partner Anna Kwong of Texas Christian University on Thursday.
Knight picks up her third career medal from the Winter National Championships. Knight, a native of Stanley, North Carolina, made her fifth appearance at the Winter National Championships this year. A veteran of the meet, Knight earned silver in 2019 with a second-place finish in the 1-meter final. Knight has finished fourth in the 3-meter synchronized final both in 2021 and 2023 and eighth in the 3-meter final in 2022. One of Kentucky’s most decorated divers in program history, Knight is a 10-time All-American and a member of the 2020 USA Diving High Performance Squad.
On Friday, current fifth-year diver Sam Duncan recorded a career-best fourth-place finish in the men’s 1-meter final, just short of earning a medal. The Virginia native scored a personal best 666.65 points in his best showing at the National Championships.
