Logan Dorsey Named Second Team All-Southeast Region
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s soccer senior Logan Dorsey was named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s All-Southeast Region Second Team, United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday.
“Really happy for Logan earning his first regional honor,” said head coach Johan Cedergren. “His relentless hard work and leadership has not gone unnoticed by myself and our staff. After an incredible senior season, it’s great to see him recognized in a competitive Southeast Region.”
Dorsey, a senior from Evergreen, Co., earned the postseason honor following 14 goals, five game-winners and three assists throughout his senior season. He recorded 50 shots, 29 shots on goal and 31 points in 18 matches.
He became the first Wildcat in program history to score two hat-tricks to dual Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week nods and one NCAA Player of the Week honor. The forward led the 2024 squad in goals scored to tie for the top spot in the conference while leading the Sun Belt in shots on goal up until the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinal match. He was the first Kentucky men’s soccer student-athlete to score at least one goal in four consecutive matches since Kalil ElMedkhar in 2019.
Following the regular season match slate, Dorsey was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team while also earning an All-Tournament Team nod following the conference tournament. Academically, Dorsey was named to the College Sport Communicators All-District Team before finding himself on the CSC Academic All-America® NCAA Division I Third Team. Dorsey will graduate with his undergraduate degree in psychology in December.
