Phillpotts, Woods Earn United Soccer Coaches Regional Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s soccer’s Grace Phillpotts and Makala Woods have been selected as United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region honorees, the organization announced today.

Phillpotts, a defender out of Fenton, Michigan, earned a spot on the Second Team for the second straight season, while Woods, a forward from Monroe, Ohio was recognized on the Fourth Team for the first time in her career.

Phillpotts and Woods started all 21 matches for Kentucky this fall in their historic season. Woods led the way with a career-best 11 goals on the season and a career-high 23 points, while Phillpotts notched four assists for the fourth straight season and scored her first career goal in the 3-1 victory over Kent State. Both Wildcats were vital to the team’s success this fall, which saw the program make its first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 2014.

Phillpotts and Woods add the United Soccer Coaches distinction to a postseason award inventory which includes All-SEC First Team honors. Woods was also named SEC Newcomer of the Year.
