Kentucky Volleyball Selected for 10 National Telecasts
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Volleyball team in conjunction with its network partners at ESPN announced the 2024 volleyball television schedule Thursday afternoon, with UK selected for 10 national television broadcasts, including three on flagship ESPN and an additional match on ESPN2.
The television broadcast season kicks off Friday night at 7 p.m. ET with an hour preview show on SEC Network with Peter Burns, Katie George and Missy Whittemore breaking down the new-look Southeastern Conference in volleyball to get fans primed for the season.
UK’s first television broadcast will be one of three non-conference matches selected by ESPN, as Kentucky and Nebraska will play on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET on August 27 in the AVCA First Serve Showcase as part of a season-opening doubleheader with Eric Frede, Katie George and Holly McPeak on the call from the Derby City.
Kentucky will make its first appearance on SEC Network as it hosts the Penn State Nittany Lions as part of the Kentucky Invitational in newly-renovated Memorial Coliseum on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. ET.
The Wildcats will play three games on flagship ESPN this season, beginning on Sept. 18 with the annual Battle of the Bluegrass against Louisville at 7 p.m. ET. The Wildcats will travel to Florida on Sept. 29 for a 1 p.m. ET showdown on ESPN before another 1 p.m. ET match, this time against Texas in Lexington on October 13.
UK closes its season with a pair of SEC Network telecasts, with one coming Nov. 10 against LSU at 4:30 p.m. ET before the final home match of the season is against Arkansas on Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. ET on SECN.
