  • Kentucky is 11-17 overall and 4-10 in the Southeastern Conference in 2023-24, while South Carolina is 27-0 overall and 14-0 in the conference this season.
  • The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program is in its 50th season.

How It Happened

  • Kentucky trailed South Carolina, 25-8, at the end of the first quarter.
    • UK held USC to just one field goal in the final five minutes and 35 seconds in that period, however USC went 6-of-6 from the line in that time.
  • Scoring was better balanced in the second quarter, as USC narrowly outscored UK, 17-14, in that period.
    • UK scored just one less field goal and one less free throw than USC in the second quarter.
    • Kentucky trailed South Carolina, 42-22, at halftime.
      • USC took advantage of the line in the first half, going 9-of-9, while UK went 1-of-6.
    • Despite a slower start to the third quarter, Kentucky earned a 7-2 run down the stretch, including a 7-0 run before South Carolina made a pair of free throws under 10 seconds.
      • Kentucky trailed South Carolina, 74-43, at the end of the third quarter.
    • The Wildcats had six scorers in the fourth quarter, but the team effort wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.
      • The Cats also went a crippling 0-6 from the line in that period.
      • Kentucky lost to South Carolina, 103-55.
