LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Joe Crawford, Ramel Bradley and Randolph Morris each had 14 points as Kentucky won its fifth straight with an 82-68 victory over Massachusetts Friday, spoiling the homecoming of Minutemen coach Travis Ford.

Freshman point guard Derrick Jasper had a career-high nine assists – the most by a Kentucky player this year.

Ford, coming off a victory against former coach Rick Pitino and Louisville on Wednesday, failed to become the first coach in nine years to beat both the Cardinals and Wildcats on their home courts in the same season.

He is now 0-4 against his alma mater. The previous three games – including one in the NCAA tournament – came when Ford coached at Eastern Kentucky.

Kentucky’s backcourt trio of Crawford, Bradley and Jasper had its most complete game since coach Tubby Smith went with the three-guard lineup Dec. 5 against Chattanooga.

Crawford came out of a shooting funk by hitting three of four shots from 3-point range. Bradley made both of his long-range shots.

Eight minutes into the game with the Minutemen ahead 19-16, Kentucky went on a 23-3 run to take a 17-point lead. Six different Wildcats scored on the 10-minute drive, highlighted by three consecutive 3-pointers – two from Crawford and one by Ramel Bradley.

The Minutemen trimmed a 21-point Kentucky lead down to 12 with two minutes left but got no closer.

The Wildcats dominated virtually every aspect of the game, shooting 59 percent from the field, holding the Minutemen to 37 percent, and winning the rebounding battle 37-to-32.

One of the only sore spots for Kentucky was personal fouls. The Wildcats racked up 20 – five from Bobby Perry and four from Morris.

James Life provided almost all the offense for UMass, scoring 24 points – including six 3-pointers. Stephane Lasme had five blocks, but the Wildcats kept challenging him, as Lasme fouled out with two minutes left.

The newest Wildcat, Ramon Harris of Alaska, scored his first two points of the year.
