Team Records and Series Notes  

• The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program is in its 49th season with an 888-570 (.609) all-time record.   
  • The Wildcats are now 6-1 on the season. 
  • The Spartans are now 4-4 on the season. 
• Kyra Elzy is in her third season as the head coach of the Wildcats, holding a 43-22 overall record.  
• This afternoon’s game marked the first all-time meeting between Kentucky and UNC-Greensboro, as the Wildcats now lead the series, 1-0. 
  • The Cats lead the all-time meetings with Southern Conference programs, 20-1. 
• Kentucky will embark on its first true road game of the season at Minnesota on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET. 
  • The game can be streamed on the Big10 Network+. 

Team Notes  

• Kentucky used the starting combination Jada Walker, Maddie Scherr, Robyn Benton, Blair Green and Adebola Adeyeye for the third straight game this season. UK is 2-1 using this starting combination.  
  • UNC-Greensboro won the opening tip. 
  • Blair Green was the first player to score for Kentucky. 
  • Emma King, Amiya Jenkins and Nyah Leveretter were the first substitutes off the bench for Kentucky. 
• The lead changed several times in the first five minutes of the game, with both teams shooting over 50.0 percent during that stretch.  
  • Right before the first quarter media timeout (4:27), Kentucky went on a 6-0 run, thanks to the effort of Blair Green, Jada Walker and Adebola Adeyeye, as UK began to separate itself with a 20-13 lead. 
    • The Wildcats extended improved to a 13-0 run out of the media timeout, keeping the Spartans scoreless for more than five-and-a-half minutes in the middle of the first quarter. 
  • Kentucky allowed a quick bunny from UNC-Greensboro in the final four seconds of the first quarter.  
  • The Wildcats led the Spartans, 27-15, at the end of the first quarter.  
    • The Cats shot 70.6 percent from the field in the first quarter, on 12-of-17 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers.  
• Kentucky began the second quarter with another 6-0 run. 
  • UNC-Greensboro made its solo basket of the first six-and-a-half minutes of the second quarter on a layup at 6:56.  
  • Kentucky followed up that bucket with another 11-0 run.  
    • In her collegiate debut, Kennedy Cambridge recorded the first points of her career on steal and a fastbreak layup (3:48) after entering the game in the middle of the second quarter. 
  • The Spartans snapped their own scoring drought with a layup at 2:50. 
  • Cambridge responded to that with a 4-0 run of her own. 
  • The Wildcats allowed the Spartans to make a last-second offensive rebound and put-back to close out the second quarter. 
  • Kentucky led UNC-Greensboro, 48-21, at halftime. 
    • The Wildcats shot 66.7 percent from the field in the first half on 20-of-30 shooting.  
• It was a back-and-forth affair in the third quarter, as UNC-Greensboro led Kentucky, 10-9, in the third quarter by the second media timeout (4:12). 
  • The Wildcats allowed the Spartans to make their first consecutive points since the early frame of the first quarter, allowing the Sparts to go on a 4-0 run in the first three minutes of the third quarter and a 6-0 run under five minutes of the third quarter.  
    • The Sparts held the Cats scoreless for more than three minutes during that stretch. 
  • However, a pair of Kentucky freshmen helped snap UNC-Greensboro’s 6-0 run with Cambridge’s two free throws and then Amiya Jenkins’ steal and score (1:38). 
    • Jenkins followed with another layup, helping UK craft a 6-0 run in response. 
  • The Spartans knocked down a free throw, but Blair Green responded right back with her first 3-pointer of the game. 
    • Ajae Petty extended that little stretch with a couple of free throws. 
  • UNC-Greensboro concluded the third quarter with a 3-pointer. 
  • Kentucky led UNC-Greensboro, 68-39, at the end of the third quarter. 
    • Despite the Spartans ability to lead the Wildcats through the middle of the third quarter, Kentucky came out on top, 20-18, in the third quarter. 
• The two teams managed to go tit-for-tat in the fourth quarter, with neither team going on more than a 4-0 run. 
  • Petty played some big minutes down the stretch, recording five points and five rebounds to help push her past the double-double threshold. 
  • Kentucky defeated UNC-Greensboro, 82-56. 
• The Wildcats scored at least 80 points in a game for the second time this season. 
  • The Cats are 2-0 this season when scoring at least 80 points, while they’re 375-26 all-time when scoring at least that many. 
• Kentucky’s 82 points tied its season high in points scored. 
• UK generated 58.2 percent scoring against UNCG, a season-high, field-goal percentage for the Wildcats.  
  • It marked the second time this season the Cats have shot at least 50.0 or better from the field. 
• Kentucky outrebounded UNC-Greensboro, 38-34. 
• UK also led UNCG in points off turnovers (29-10), points in the paint (44-32), second-chance points (20-11), fastbreak points (10-6) and bench points (27-26).  
  • It marked the third game this season UK has led its opponent in all five categories, as the Cats are 3-0 when they lead their opponent in all five categories. 
• Meanwhile, the Wildcats forced the Spartans to commit 24 turnovers. 
  • The Cats have won the turnover battle in every game this season. 
  • The Cats have forced their opponents to commit at least 20 turnovers in six games this season, including the last six straight games. 

Player Notes  

• Three players scored in double digits for the sixth time this season. 
  • The Wildcats are 5-1 when at least three players score at least 10 points. 
  • Kentucky has had the same three leading scorers in the las three straight games (Jada Walker, Robyn Benton and Ajae Petty).  
• Sophomore guard Jada Walker led the team with 20 points. 
  • It marked the fourth time she has led Kentucky in scoring this season. 
  • It marked the second 20+ point scoring game of the season and the fourth of her career. 
    • Her 20 points came off 7-of-9 from the field, 1-of-2 from the arc and 5-of-6 from the line. 
    • She has scored in double digits in all but one game this season. 
  • She added four assists and three rebounds.  
• Graduate guard Robyn Benton had 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. 
  • She has scored in double digits in every game this season. 
  • She added a rebound, an assist and a steal. 
  • It marked the second straight game she has scored at least two 3-pointers.  
• Junior forward Ajae Petty had her first career double-double on 10 points and a career-high 12 points in just 16 minutes. 
  • She added two blocks and two steals. 
  • She has scored in double digits the last three straight games. 
  • It is just Kentucky’s second double-double this season. 
  • It marked her third game this season she has led the team in rebounds.
