Kentucky Swim & Dive to Compete at Ohio State Invitational Beginning Thursday
COLUMBUS, Ohio – UK swimming & diving will race in its first invitational of the 2022-23 season when the Wildcats head to McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion this Thursday through Saturday for the Ohio State Invitational.
Live results can be found on the Meet Mobile app with streaming available for each of the night sessions on BTN+.
Kentucky is one of 14 schools sending representatives to the meet along with Ohio State, Indiana, Lindenwood, Yale, Navy, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Ohio, UCLA, Kenyon (diving only), Pitt (women only) and Miami (diving only). Five of the 14 teams entered appear in either the men’s or women’s CSCAA October top-25, with three schools (Ohio State, Indiana and Virginia Tech) present in both polls.
The Wildcats are competing at the Ohio State Invitational for a second consecutive season after the women placed second and the men fifth at the event a year ago.
The early portion of the 2022-23 season has seen the Cats take on some of the top competition in the country, holding dual meets against Indiana, NC State and Texas A&M.
Thus far, nine UK swimmers have met NCAA B-cut standards, led by senior Caitlin Brooks who has reached the threshold in three events (100 back, 100 fly, 200 back).
On the diving side, Sam Duncan, Claire McDaniels, Morgan Southall, Abby Devereaux and Kyndal Knight have all made zone cuts in both the 1-meter and 3-meter.
