Kentucky-Murray State Game Canceled Due to Weather

by UK Media Relations

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s home game with Murray State on Tuesday has been canceled due to inclement weather, it was announced Monday. The game potentially will be made up at a later date this season.

No. 4 Kentucky instead will look ahead to its Southeastern Conference opening series this weekend at No. 5 Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It will be the second consecutive weekend series against a top five opponent for the Wildcats, who took two of three games from No. 3 Texas Tech this past weekend. Senior catcher/first baseman earned SEC Player of the Week honors on the strength of his performance against the Red Raiders and earlier last week versus Eastern Kentucky and Northern Kentucky.

Friday night’s game at Baum Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. eastern time, with Saturday’s first pitch set for 3 p.m. and Sunday’s at 2 p.m. Last season, the Cats began SEC play by sweeping No. 22 Texas A&M on the road.

More information on any rescheduling of the Murray State game will be provided as it becomes determined.
